It's official. Work is going to be goddamn insane until December 15. Expect frothing at the mouth, nervous tics, and caffeine overdoses. 30 Seconds to Mars' new album next week is going to be my 'halfway mark' present to myself. Until then, I need smaller benchmarks.

No, she told them no and asked for their supervisors when they offered to call her a counselor, she asked instead for Doctor McCoy. When he came, he sat on the edge of the bed and called her 'Miss Gaila' (with respect, always with respect, and he is on her list for that--she can finally have a list again because she is alive alive alive) and when she told him what she wanted and why, he smiled at her the way he does at Jim sometimes and told her which forms to ask for.

The scar is hers now.

It is her first night out--not out of the hospital, but the first night she felt able to dance, so she digs the red shoes out from under her bed and dresses up and goes. Her halter top does not cover the scar. She will never hide it if she can help it.
