The rains came...

The gardens are happy and growing lushly. So many flower buds are ready to pop with some warm sun.

Twice this week the folks in town got heavy shooter marble-sized hail several inches deep... which decimated everything in their gardens and took down tons of leaves from the trees. Very sad but at least it's early enough they can replant and/or ( Read more... )

Thank you! :) The columbines? (look like ballerinas) or the darker ones? (Stock, so fragrant!)

2,800 gallons - way cool. I've just run dry in my 75 gallon and 50 gallons rain barrels. No rain in three weekends, can you imagine that!!

That Matilda is a looker. :)

Thanks... she is cute... and they are very sweet.

Wow.. yea, my daughter said the weather has been really dry and nice (peninsula). It's always a surprise to run out of water in Seattle, isn't it? I never even collected when I lived there since we always had tons. When I got to the SW I really had to harvest every bit possible if I wanted to have gardens.

Yes, I just presented the possibility of an additional 6 inches of depth for more collection. We have one that's 1,000 gallons, one that's 4,000 and one that's 550. So the extra will really give us enough catchment we need for the new gardens.

I'm glad you're getting so much rain! :)
I want to be sure to order some more balms from you when I get back from vacation...mental note to self.

Yes, it's been magnificent! Now witht he sun out, it's very green...

Hope you're enjoying your time in Florida! BTW, speaking of lip balms... I wonder if the balms are getting melty in that warmer climate?!... a concern I've had for summer in hot places.

I did have a melt down issue with the pomegranate lip balm, but I don't think I would want a firmer or waxier balm, personally...the texture is one of the things I love about it! :)

oops... the Pom, I noticed, is a bit softer than some... Did you put it in the fridge? It will re-harden pretty quickly. I have them everywhere so the ones in my pocket or in the car can get softer than I like and get blobby so I cool them down. Glad you like the texture in general!
