My mind feels like a sponge-- not like the metaphoric sponge that absorbs and basically keeps everything...a real sponge. I have approached my spongemind saturation point-- anything new that I learn results in something being lost or not learned at all. Although, this may purely be me being tired or the self-depreciating thing I do. Grr, complexes ( Read more... )

Ooh, the full sponge. Yeah, sometimes I feel that way too. I think it's a phase, tho. Or maybe it doesn't exist at all. Oh well. :P

DAMN @ Scanner Darkly. Wasn't that supposed to be out LAST year?! The trailer rocked sooo much. *sigh* The cast, too.

Lovely work, Eva! :) I definitely do get a "pop" feel from it. I think my favorite part is actually the lettering/words across the top -- I love the angle, and the parts that are cut off. Really cool.

Thankies ^_^ -- I have this weird habit of always incorporating some text in my work lately. Although, I wish I didn't go crazy on the bottom, looked cool at 4am :).

I think they moved it mainly to a summer release to gain momentum/hype, but still it really sucks...I think there might be a prescreened pirated copy on the web, but I don't know if I'm that desperate yet. Oh, have you seen Waking Life? It's by the same director, Richard Linklater, and he used the cartoonized topography as in SD. It's all about Philosophy really, or even self realization, but it's rather interesting. I think they also mention something about Philip K. Dick in that movie, and I was like "neato", lol.

omg pirated copy? hehe I am so deviously there. ;)

I haven't seen Waking Life, but the title sounds familiar... I'll have to look it up. The main thing that draws me to SD is that style, so I'd love to see anything else done like it... Oh man, am I forgetting...? Who is Philip K. Dick? A philosopher maybe? I haven't taken a philo course in a while. *blush*

Oh, no Philip K. Dick is just the writer of Scanner Darkly and a sundry of other scifi/philiophy-ish books (Paycheck and Minority Report were a few other of his books adapted to movies). His style of writing reminds me just of a very-scifi version of Kurt Vonnegut.

As for the pirated copy, if I'll see it around... *wink wink*
