[Bazett has just retuned from the general store, a bag filled with cans of instant coffee in tow. She stops when she sees the man's armband.]

Are those some kind of runes?

[She has never seen runes like those before. She wonders what sort of effect they are meant to have.]

[ABOUT TIME YOU STARTED TO APPRECIATE COFFEE, CAESAR. Balin turns to watch Caesar trudge on past-wondering briefly if he wound up waking up Caesar with his ranting. He does calm down a bit though, enough to speak in a mostly calm manner.]

Yeah, mornin'.

[He stares at Caesar for a few seconds, trying to recall if he heard his name on the TV-but he soon realizes he hasn't, and Caesar doesn't look like he's been replaced at all.]

Caesar, did you hear'a news just now?

it's a ... kind of'a tradition we got in'a AFS, this time'a year. On'a 21st we dye a piece of our armor or clothes red.

[He glances down at the armband again for a moment, tugging at it as if checking to see if it's still snug.]

It's a thing we do, in remembrance of'a fall of Earth.
