Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you" o/`

"They shoved me into the cargo hold under the school bus. I missed supper!"

Fabulous.

as long as I'm able to give them back to their parents at the end of the day.

We're trying to have a baby, but this has always been my sentiment as well. Not sure when that changed. Hmmm.

I really did do that to him and it caused all kinds of trouble, particularly since he wasn't discovered until we were half way back over the mountain and almost home.

For me, the sentiment partially stands. I don't think I could ever have cared for my own and I still don't want to but I don't mind having a hand in helping out with Dee's children when they're here. Coyote Woman still lives in the bayou and won't leave so Dee only sees his children on weekends every so often. She does know she has a standing invitation to move here if she should ever desire to do so though.

Totally a shame you're not still in the game. This was a lot of fun to read.

It happens. As I said, I think this particular vote was political since it caught both of us combined with some bad luck (in addition to LJ's antics we also had to contend with a huge power outage).

Doesn't mean I won't write, though. Dee probably will as well when a topic grabs him but those are likely to be friends only or between family members.

And trying to explain to the US government just why I'd decided to take a piece of their property, as my mother so blatantly put it, was one of the most difficult things I ever had to own up to. I really could have ruined Dee's career and gotten him prison time as well for that stunt.

This was such a lovely picture of family. Really beautiful, it had a very warm-yellow feeling to it.

That's what I was trying for. While Dee and Dorie are the only ones who live here full time, most of the rest of the clan finds time in their schedules to pop over on weekends or even during the day. Callistus in particular spends a lot of time here.

We don't see the babies as often and Coyote Woman refuses to relocate out of the bayou, though she knows she'd be welcome here. We do what we can. Lately she's been bringing them around more often since Dee can't travel. Since I don't have to be with them full time, I don't mind the little guys. Generally I serve as a baby rocker or a full time gym. I never get saddled with the diapers.

That's usually Dee's job.

Yeah, but I can still write. Being out of the competition obviously doesn't stop me. He'll write too, just probably not as publicly. Right now, things are a little weird. Just got my first shot of the new chemo. Nasty, double loading dose.

A wonderful entry. Thank you for writing it. Isn't it truly amazing how our trials in life turn out to be blessings? Once again your magnificent heart graces the page. I feel the love in everything you write.

These Cajuns might be the most annoying thing under the sun --- always in everyone's business and they fight constantly, as though it were a national pass time --- but when they consider you family, you have them when you need them. I love my adopted Cajun family. They've been very good to me.

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment (told you I wouldn't pout long!)

Good going, Kitty!
I have enjoyed reading all your stories this season. I hope you can keep on doing the Home Game. Hopefully Gary will put a thread back so I can find you again.

I don't know how many others write Home Game topics but I intend to do as many as I can. Dee says he will do so if a topic grabs him, but that might not be for a while. Had he not been eliminated, he would likely have needed to withdraw. He still has good and bad days but he's not doing as well as they would like him to.
