Those love and light ideals are difficult to give up and so are the ingrained Christian motifs of dark and chaos equaling evil.

It goes without saying, though, that I tend to attract the trickster gods. I keep expecting my universe to implode some time.

On a somewhat related note, my mom has a beagle/basset mix that she never did come up with a good name for, so his name is just "Dog." She'll tell her friends about "My dog, Dog" and they think she's nuts. They're probably right. :)

The ultimate plan did work out, just not the way I'd thought it would. Looking back, I can see the grand design but back then it seemed like a real pain in the rump.

I love that particular phrase, which I picked up from heathens on the Renn Faire circuit. My other favorite is "Baldur's Balls".

Loki ended up being one of my primary deities. The rest of what happened was rather private and I didn't care to write it down. The dog himself came to a rather Lokean end. When my ex and I were getting divorced he refused to give me the dogs. Loki and Brighid got into the neighbor's sheep. The sheriff was only going to fine us and let us have the dogs. My ex, because I wanted the dog, ordered the sheriff to shoot him right in front of me.

:( Your ex is really a piece or work. I'll keep hoping that at some point he really got what was coming to him.
