Is knowin' what to throw away and knowing what to keep.
'Cause ev'ry hand's a winner and ev'ry hand's a loser,
And the best that you can hope for is to die in your sleep." o/`

Something in your opening made me feel as if I was there, approaching that casino, and coming into it and looking at all the gaudy colours of its decor, and all that. Very nice. Evocative.

The dialog at the end was done very well, I think. Those few lines conveyed a lot without losing the ambience that you've built up. Nice ending, too.

Thank you!

It's one of my best memories of that place, which was a hard time in my life. The casinos out there are very different, one reason why I enjoy them. Somehow most of them mange to preserve their culture in the design while making the place welcome to strangers.

And in a complete tangent, they have some of the best buffet food around.

Some of your phrasing is just gorgeous. I love this whole passage:

The desert night embraced us, swallowing all traces of passage, as we drove out to the reservation. A bare difference in blackness demarcated the cold, star studded sky from the towering mesas. The headlights showed ten feet of withering sage and scrub brush at a time. We thought we'd gotten lost when the road went from pavement to gravel to dust, but eventually a neon smear on the horizon assured us we were indeed come to the right place.

The imagery is just so vivid and lovely.

I hope some day you do go the Osage Nation and find out more about your roots (I clicked and read the linked journal).

Thanks for sharing.

We're thinking about trying to trace down the heritage on the off chance that some family survives out there. We pass through that area regularly but have never stopped. Maybe it's time to do so. Thanks for reading!

Too bad I don't pay attention to that little voice more often.

Oh...I got a USB to store the BoS material on and I'm making it a pretty pagan lanyard. Fox wants to know if he can make himself a BoS wiki that only he can edit instead of writing things out?

No, we haven't forgotten. I'm looking at lessons but so far no questions about this specifically. I do have questions about astral folk, astral projection, and healing. Think you can help?

Excellent idea on the USB.
As for a private Wiki, I know that Fox is dyslexic, but I still worry about ANYTHING being on the Internet! (I got REALLY reamed out by the Elders for putting lessons on Yahoo, and learned a valuable lesson!)
As for questions, email 'em to me, and I'll do my best! Can't wait to get into the lessons with you two!!! ;)
Hugs!

Not on the web, on our server. No one who doesn't have access to the server at home could see it. That's where I store my own stuff and my writing.
