cut it loose to float downstream
Leave it frozen on a mountain top,
suspend it high to be picked clean

but you forgot to tell me how
You said never to grow old
and then you sank your teeth into those final feet" o/`

You are very lucky, indeed. However, Dee & Dorie are equally lucky to have you in their lives.

This piece is very well written and deserves a vote from everyone who reads it!

*laughs* Well, then, make certain people read it :D It's a public entry and I've never been very good at promoting myself. With my luck, however, this will end up being a community vote. I don't fare so well in those.

Dee's here now, asleep. He put in a rough week and feeling pretty sick right now. Hopefully as the afternoon wears on, he'll feel better.

Those reactions are luckily few and far between, it was just sheer bad luck that I happened to have one while visiting. As you can see, though, I have excellent support. Fox has learned to cope with it admirably, but this is the first time Dorie and Dee had to see that. I did indeed scare them.

I'm just sorry you have to do this too. I've been on the drug for a year now and will have to be on it for the rest of my life. Some days, it's almost tolerable. Days like that it almost kills me. My hair fell out in patches --- I have a big bald spot in the middle of my head --- and then became thin, brittle, and patchy. It was my one vanity.

Thanks for reading. I hope you have a good support system, at least as good as what I have.

Mine is for severe psoriasis. The T-cells mistake the skin for cancer and attack it, causing huge weeping lesions all over the body. The injections kill the T-cells permanently so they'll stop doing that and the skin can regrow. If I ever stop the treatment, it comes roaring back worse than before until the skin loses integrity completely and I get a systemic infection because the skin can't stop it.

I'm learning just how amazing a support system I do have. Dorie and Dee are just two examples. When I got sick in Louisiana, I had friends from all over the world checking in or just trying to get me home or praying for me.

You have a horrendous drug regime to deal with. Thank goodness you have such wonderful support.

Yeah, it's pretty nasty. I'm thinking of asking them to find a less harsh treatment if they can or perhaps going ahead to radiation therapy (they use UV which doesn't really make you ill but it can burn). I'm very grateful for my beloveds. They take good care of me.

They are so wonderful, but they're also lucky to have you in their lives, that's why they care so much about you.

I know they're wonderful. I still don't know why they want me, but I'm glad they do. I'm very grateful that I have such caring beloveds.
