It is a largely unknown scene and participants have been happy to keep it that way, feeling they are often misunderstood. So what is a furry?

Very well researched and well written. It's one of the few fair treatments of furry fandom I've seen from the media. It doesn't pull any punches but it doesn't focus on the more bizarre bits of the fandom

Not bad at all, really. Dorie is going to give the article to her boss in an attempt to better explain where it is she disappears to at the beginning of September.

That is a well written article, indeed, though it doesn't go as deeply as I might've expected - I think this is the first article I've seen of the kind which stresses that the only thing furries have in common is the interest in anthropomorphism. Furries are not all fursuiters, nor all artists, nor all anything except sharing a common very broad interest. I must say in respect to that I'm disappointed in some commenters' inability to read the text, though.

Commenters are generally idiots. Dee makes a practice of trolling them because they're so stupid.

Seems to dwell a bit to much on the suiting aspect to me...I think it is like 20% of polled furries who fursuit.

I recognize those backs in the pictures LOL.

I guess because fursuiting is the best known and most tangible part of the fandom which stays rated everybody. Most of the folks I know do fursuit, though. Far more than 20%. It's just that some of them like the secrecy of having a suit and people not necessarily knowing who it belongs to. I've met folks who have completely separate con identities for their suits and themselves.
