I'm glad you liked it. I spent most of November 'torturing' these poor souls for National Novel Writing Months so I figured the characters were due a break and could celebrate the holidays quietly without anything going wrong.

Some of those ornaments actually do reside on one of the family trees (just not this one) and some of the stories about them are actually true. My grandmother's tree did, in fact, contain several badges made into ornaments and the lovers' hearts are an actual family heirloom. One WAS a Texas Ranger and the other was...well...something considerably less glamourous and acceptable than a saloon woman.
