I didn't like X3 either. I mean, I did, but not nearly as much as the other two. This one was just too frenzied, less developed, less well-thought out. The characters didn't have the same chemistry with each other as they did in previous movies. They started too many plotlines that they didn't finish. I just more felt like I was watching a comic book, not interacting with this group of people!

exactly. see, some of the reasons i didn't like it--

1. they let the stars' schedules dictate the story. Cyclops' role was much bigger, but he was wanting to film something else at the same time...so, what happened in the movie, happened.
2. halle berry bitched about not having any character development, and refused to be in the film unless she was made more of a main character. thus, she became the leader (yes, in the comic books, she eventually became co-leader with cyclops...but in the comics, she was a halfway decent character. here, she was just filler.)
3. the writing..ugh, the writing. just awful. i felt like i was watching a cheap soap opera. "the ground troops are 30 minutes away, mr. president." "then....God help us All!"
4. like you said....just less thought-out. it just sucked on so many levels. and i hate that. because i thought 1 was great. and 2 was amazing. i had such high hopes for this one. and boom. crushed them.

Talking about the writing, how's the line, "Well, obviously, the only plausible explanation for Jean's survival is that she was wrapped in a coccoon of her own telepathic ability at the bottom of the ocean,' or some junk like that.... we all just cracked up at that one!

I agree. so disappointing - the first two absolutely blew me away.

hahaha, yes, exactly. the whole thing just seemed like such fan-fiction, to me...although i can't imagine any fan (over the age of 11) writing such drivel.

and i dunno. just other little things....like how wolverine didn't know who Beast was (what the hell...don't even get me started).

oh, and bad dialogue?

"I'm the Juggernaut, Bitch!"

i physically cringed.

plus, i was just upset at how much Juggernaut looked like an actual penis.

My brother hated x3. I have yet to see it, but I believe I'll trust his and your judgement.
