My mom just got off the phone with my dad. One of the family cats (she'd been mine in high school) died sometime last night, locked all alone in the bathroom. She'd been sick but they told us it was her thyroid and they gave us pills for it and sent her home.

Her name was Scully, because I was obsessed with X-Files my junior year of high school,

I'm so sorry. I hope it was peaceful. Burt had a thyroid problem. It's really serous. He lost a lot of weight before we noticed, there was two choices pills or a really expensive taxing procedure.

Thanks, hon. According to the vet, it was probably heart failure, which would have come on suddenly and been really quick.
