It felt like it at some points, I think. The cheesy death scene at the end, for instance. But other times it fell really flat. Especially when I compare it to the X-Files ep, Post Modern Prometheus, which was also filmed in black and white and went for the cheesy horror film feel. That episode NAILED it, this episode only hit in the vicinity every once in a while.
