Conclusions

Thank you to everyone who participated in this course! Since it was part of the beta run for fan_extension, I didn't know what to do or expect at the beginning, but I can definitely say that I enjoyed facilitating this workshop. I had so much fun reading through everyone's comments and assignments, and I hope you'll all find the chance to write ( Read more... )

I thought it was a wonderful course, and was very impressed by the manner and thoroughness in which the subject was presented. *g* Would be interested in any other courses you might host in the future, and hopefully be able to contribute more than I did this time around.

(Frankly, I'm a bit ashamed to be listed as one of those who successfully completed the course, as I didn't join in on most of the discussions, and wasn't a model of eloquence when it came to assignments, either. ^^" Nothing to do with the sessions; have only work and my own general suckitude to blame.)

Thank you for all the time and effort that went into this!

I enjoyed this course a lot. I've been hesitant to write AUs, but now I think I have a better "feel" for them than I did. There were some very interesting points brought up, both in the course itself and the discussions. The speed seemed fine. I like the fact that you gave us a good syllabus at the beginning, and that the assignments were given and due on established dates. Also, the reminder notice was helpful, since sometimes I'd space out during a weekend and then see the reminder and remember that I needed to finish the assignment! ;-)

I hope you can facilitate more courses in the future! You did good.

Kudos - you expanded my horizons a little bit, and since I'm notably difficult to persuade. ^_^

I think it was a pretty fun and interesting course! :D I actually found it helpful, both the assignments and the posts, because I got to see others viewpoints on AUs, and you brought up a lot of points about AU fic I'd never considered before. And of course the assignments made me brainstorm AU fics in which I'd never even thought about before!

I only wish I'd been able to participate in the discussions more (I think I did manage to reply to every post but one, but I didn't really have time to involve myself in others' comments ;;), but lack of my own computer and classes starting back up kind of made that difficult D:

And well, I don't know, maybe if you'd replied to some of the discussions in the posts too? Obviously you can't reply to everything, but I'm just thinking of my classes (real ones I mean, not online! XD) and the professors participate in discussions. Dunno, just a thought, don't mind me! >.>

oh, and I forgot to say also. I think the speed was just right for the course. The other course I'm in is going a little too slow for my taste, but this one was easy to keep up with. The reminders for assignments were really helpful too :D

Thank you for this course - AU fics have been one of my major interests lately, fandom-wise. I know I didn't comment much, but I really enjoyed following the course, including doing the assignments and reading other people's opinions.
(I know that's a terribly bland comment but that's what I sincerely felt)

The pace was just right - enough time for me to breathe and dwell on the topics.
