“So they’re booking a shitload of live shows for me.. I heard that they even want me on SNL,” David starts, and Andy’s eyes widen slightly.
“SNL? Shit, that’s major, man.” He sets his beer down on the table and leans forward to give David a quick hug. “You must be so fucking pumped, Dave,” he comments after releasing the older man.
“Can’t even express it, Andy.. Like.. you have no idea,” David tries to explain. He smiles, and tries to look excited, but Andy can see the nervousness in his eyes.
“You’re ready for this, David. You’ve been ready for this.” He flips his hair back out of his eyes, and gives his friend a comforting smile.
“What if I’m not?”, he asks quietly.
“There is no ‘what if’ with this, Dave. ‘Promise.”
The two men are silent for a long moment, before David speaks. “They said I have to set up a band to tour with..” Andy glances up to met David’s gaze, and he shivers slightly at the look in his eyes. “It would mean the world to me if you would be part of it.”
The younger man doesn’t speak for a moment, unsure of what to say. Instead he just looks at David, shocked. After a moment or so, the request sets in and his shock fades smoothly into excitement. “Are you serious?”, he exclaims, and David nods. Andy’s smile brightens, and his eyes light up. “Of course! I’d love to David. Can you imagine?” His smile falters after a moment, though. “You really wouldn’t mind me riding your coattails?”, he asks softly.
David pulls the younger man into his arms, and kisses his neck, “Damnit, Andy. I expect you to steal the show.”
Guys, this was my first attempt at Dandy. I'm sorry it probably sucked. :(
