First of all, I love that you have him reading Teen People. LOVE IT.

He was too busy dwelling on the memories of three summers ago - something that, at normal times, felt as if they belonged to another person.
I cant even tell you how much I love that line. It's just stunning and it sums up so well the way things seem after a certain amount of time has gone by - it's like you dont even remember if it really happened. And I love the lines following this too, because I love days like that, where everything just comes together and those memories come alive again. *is rambling*

“Yes sir,” the boy grinned, looking thrilled that Kalan remembered his name. “I just wanted to come up and say hello to you. You were my favourite contestant on this show way back when, you know. I mean, I’m from Alberta too.” He seemed to think that this was a sufficient explanation.

I love this. Its just beautiful and sad. I love that you drew parallels between Kalan/Jacob and CI5 idols. Like, the idea that it could happen again (in fic at least) is just...amazing. I also love that Kalan didnt want to be the one to break Jaydees heart. THIS IS AMAZING. I dont even have words for how much I love it.I really like drawing parallels, because like... every year there's this new crop of fresh young faces, and they go through it and I'm sure what they feel is so raw and feels so original to them. But then you have to remember that there were ten people who lived that before them... and ten more the year before that... and ten more even before them... they all had to have shared some of the same feelings.
