Title: Need
Rating: T.
Characters: Draco, Hermione
Pairing: Dramione.
Genre: Romance/Angst.
Summary: Sixth Year. They both know it's wrong but they need each other. Complete.

She knows it's wrong.

But she does not struggle as Draco (someone she knows she should hate based on past experience but can't seem to) as he presses her up against a wall and roughly covers her mouth with his. Instead she runs her hands through his beautiful white blond and kisses him back just as roughly.

She's lost count over how many times they've met in a secluded part of Hogwarts. It's less than ten but she knows their secret meetings could number well over twenty before the end of their sixth year.

She needs this.

Because outside of their meetings she is always tense and worried. She knows it's only a matter of time before Voldemort escalates his aggression to full out war in favor of shadowy movements and then her world will change.

Harry, she worries about him the most because there is the overwhelming possibility that he will not make it out of his final fight with He Who Must Not Be Named; and even if he doesn't die, he will no longer be the same Harry he was before this awful burden was placed on his shoulders. She worries she will lose the best friend she has ever had.

Selfishly, she worries about herself just a tiny bit more than Harry. Long before this war is over, she knows she will have to make hard decisions and even kill to preserve her own life. The future blood on her hands keeps her up at night staring into space wondering about what kind of person she will be after she has taken life.

She thinks of Ron with a surge of white-hot anger. Of course, she worries about him as well but she cannot deny she is disgusted about his actions. She understands his resentment of her and Harry as well as his need to rub his and Lavender's relationship in her face, but she wishes he would grow up.

She would think more about this but Draco deepens their kiss and he becomes all she cares about at the moment.

She needs this escape.

He knows this is wrong.

But he shivers when she runs her hands through his hair instead of pulling away from her in disgust. She is every thing he has been taught to hate but he cannot put a stop to this affair. Instead he deepens the kiss.

He has no idea how long they've been meeting and he doesn't care if it's been two times or twenty. And he knows they'll continue to carry on in secret for as long as possible.

He needs this.

He has been brought up to carry on the family tradition of becoming a Death Eater. And he has never questioned this just as he has never questioned his family's belief that Muggles are inferior and any wizard children that come from Muggles do not deserve to learn magic.

But now his entire foundation of beliefs has been shaken.

He can slowly feel himself being ground down as the weight of his task presses on his shoulders more and more. How can he kill Dumbledore? He has never killed anyone and doubts he can. And that doubt has him question everything his father has taught him.

He can't do this. He knows he can't do this.

And the Death Eaters will probably kill him for his failure. The thought of his death keeps him up at night; he cannot imagine what being dead would be like. Will he still exist in some form? Or will he just be gone forever?

He needs this.

He needs to forget for even just a little while.
