Summary: Takeru and Hikari have been secretly dating. They tell Taichi, but the over-protective big brother doesn't take it well.
"Kari, I don't know about this."
"Keru, it'll be fine. You just have to trust me more."
Takeru Takashi nervously fidgeted with the brim of his white fisherman's hat and gave his girlfriend a wide eyed look. "You know I trust you. It's just…Tai scares me more."
Hikari Yagami rolled her eyes at that. "My brother's not that bad."
He stared at her.
"…ok, he can be that bad. But you're his best friend's brother. And a Chosen!"
"Ken's a Chosen Child too and Tai still threatened to disembowel him when he asked you out a couple years ago."
"We have to tell him sometime, Keru. Besides the longer we keep are dating a secret the angrier he'll get when he finally finds outs."
He gulped at that and had to fight the urge to turn tail and run. Hikari smiled softly at him and kissed him on the cheek. "I'll be with you the whole time." She slid her hand into his and squeezed. "He shouldn't freak out too much if I'm there."
He smiled weakly. "I guess you're right. And we do have to tell him sometime. Even Mimi knows we're dating and she's not even in the same country as us."
"That's the spirit! Now let's get this over with."
Twenty minutes later a visibly terrified Takeru sprinted out of the Yagami family apartment with a red faced and enraged Taichi behind him.
"When I catch you TK, I'm going to rip out your guts and play soccer with them! Even if you're Matt's brother!"
Hikari quietly exited her apartment and rolled her eyes at Taichi's threat. Her overprotective brother was so angry he probably didn't even realize his threat didn't make sense.
"Note to self: Make sure to lock Tai in his room whenever Keru's over."
