I think this is because you only met me *after* my accent had shifted. Would love to digitise some old tapes of myself so people can hear the difference.
As for Stephanie, what exactly is the project? Getting her to not change her accent? When I saw her a few months back she sounded pretty damn West Virginian to me! :op
I know that UK residents can get a US-based Skype # for a reasonable price. If you do this, could you use that number to dial out from your computer? I really don't know how these things work, I'll admit. I've had nothing but good experiences with that working the other way 'round, so I thought I'd throw the idea out.

Interesting. I don't think I'd have a lot of use for a paid Skype account as I'd only be able to use it when at my computer which I don't like, but... Allie and I do use a service that lets you dial US numbers very cheaply. Maybe I could just use that to call the LJ access number when needed. Thanks!
Steph's friends and family enjoy her paid Skype number because we can call it for the same price of a call to Clarksburg, where the number's based. Also, she can have incoming calls routed to her home or mobile phone. She can only call out with it from her computer, but if I called it right now, a mobile would ring in Georgia since she's visiting there. It's pretty cool for both sides.

I love that your accent hasn't changed in the entire time I've known you. On a related note, I have a project for you. Her name is Stephanie...
