And I'm only on chapter 7. Some asshole commenting in the Dictionary.com word of the day feed had an icon spoiling the ending, and the conversation following it pretty much confirmed that it was real. I tried to forget it and brush it off as a rumor, but the more I read, the more that ending clicks into place. Kind of a shame, too, because this looks like the kind of ending that would normally have me reading with a dropped jaw.

So... beware unmoderated forums of any kind, I guess. Assholes abound.
