what subbing program do you use after aegisub? virtuadub, or something else?
also, what are the extensions of your videos? if avi, where can I get a good flv to avi converter

I've been trying to add subs to akujiki musume conchita, but none of them are coming out right

I'm using VirtualDub (assuming you have Xvid/DivX installed, you can just use the Compression optins in VirtualDub to encode the video into managable sized AVI.

As for flv to avi, use Flv Extract + VirtualDub (see this guide : http://www.digital-digest.com/articles/FLV_to_AVI_Conversion_Guide_page1.html )

by the way, just saw your akujiki musume sub, I think the font is too small (remember Youtube will show it low quality by default, plus you don't want people to have to squint even when it is in hq)
Optimal font size really depends on the video size and invidual fonts, but in general start with 16 and work up/down a bit.
