Whoohoo! I'm so excited! Why? Because for the first time in as long as I can remember, I have no work to speak of that has to get done tonight. Aside from sending an email or two, I was actually done with work at 5:15pm tonight, instead of logging back onto work after the kids are in bed around 9pm and working until 11:30 or midnight

- Make a list of jobs/chores you need to do at home, including massive ones that would be long term projects
- Prioritize them and treat them as you would tasks at work
Basically, if I just end up at home and have that "Whew! Work is done!" mentality, I instantly go couch potato (or PC potato, more accurately).
If I can convince myself that I'm still working and I treat things at home like I would part of my job, I just take a 5 minute break and then head into the next task like I would at work.
In my case, I do this to help me actually get stuff done at home. In your case, it might just appease your workaholic self while being useful at home.
And don't forget, playing with the family is an entirely valid and important task to include on the list.

1) Have a glass of red wine.
2) Play with your kidlets.
3) After they go to bed, watch a TV show or program where you don't have to have your mind stimulated.
4) Go to bed early.
5) Do all of this and don't feel guilty.
