The "beaded dangly clip" is a scissor fob. My mother got me started making those for the scissors she takes to her quilting classes. (One purpose being to identify your scissors if you sew with a group like that.) Since you do cross stitch, I thought you might have embroidery scissors or some such to put it on, but they can go on just about anything.
AH! Yes, my scissors often do go missing. I think it's why I wind up using my threadcutter so much. I'll have to see if it fits on the end. I've been meaning to find a chain for it.
