Classic movies meet the Justice League

Remember when I asked for classic film stars to cast in my head for that Golden Age era story?

Well, a tumblr husband-wife duo one-upped me and created this this gorgeous poster of a classic movie inspired Justice League. There are a few choices I'll quibble with, but I'm proud of contributing the Ava Gardner Catwoman.

Conrad Veidt as the Joker...that is an inspired bit of casting.

*chortles over William Powell as the Riddler*

And The Danny! I've never heard of the Elongated Man, but Danny Kaye was a very... *rubbery* guy. *g*

(Actually, sometime after that previous post of yours, I think Yvonne de Carlo was an actress that struck me as matching your Wonder Woman criteria.)

Elongated Man is Ralph Dibny. His power is stretching himself, like Plastic Man. He's also a detective, whereas Plastic Man was a former crook. My favorite bits is when he twitches his nose up and down as his stretchy-spidey-sense, so it suits Kaye with his nose. Ralph and his wife Sue often solved cases together like the Thin Man movies. And more recently like ghosts in Topper. Alas, not a happy ending for either of those characters in comics, but at least they're together. Any notable Kaye notable co-stars for his wife?

I have no reference for what the wife character looks like, but Danny Kaye did several movies with Virginia Mayo. *points to icon* I could totally see them doing a funny/cute detective couple together.

Sue is actually dark haired, but Mayo and Kaye do seem to fit together nicely.
