Tom Bondurant has a lovely blog post on Clark Kent/Lois Lane and how they've changed in the comics. (I was amused to discover in another first, Clark married Lois first in the comic strips actually. She didn't know his identity and in something that would have annoyed current readers, Clark discovered he'd dreamed up the whole thing!

Wow...I'd heard rumor of this, but never actually looked it up to see if it were true.

...but it was just a dream, does it really count as a first? Was it before all the various imaginary stories and things even?

The storyline lasted for a few years, so I'd think it counts. It was 1949-52, so I'm not sure where that falls in the imaginary stories category. No talking in his sleep thus far... nice pjs though?

Yeah, I'd say that counts. And is probably before the comics got to the "imaginary stories in which Clark marries Lois" era, too.
