Not that a lot of people were reading, but the fanfiction site is offline for the time being. I'm going to make one last stab at getting Efiction to work and see if that won't make archiving a little easier. Has anyone had experience installing this critter?

I use eFiction for my recs, although not for my stories. I had no problems installing it on a DreamHost hosted site. I did it long ago enough though I probably can't be too helpful to you!

The main problem I'm having is with the initial "put the db_config file outside your web directories". Does that mean on another host? Or just squirreled away on another directory?

Outside the web directory. Hmm. See, on isis.arithmancy.net the directory /home/isis/isis.arithmancy.net is the root of my website. So the db_config.php file goes in /home/isis.

Thanks. I finally figured it out after several attempts. Now I just need to figure out how to customize this thing and I'll be good to go.
