I'm so happy to see a Cuckoos fic, and from you, of all people (you've been talking about DCU so much lately that I forgot you read X-Men, too). I like the terse prose and recurring images, which build up a rhythm that culminates in the last three sentences. They encaspulate perfectly my own view of the Cuckoos at the present: the Three-In-One are more or less dragging themselves through life in the wake of the wreckage that Sophie and Esme left behind, because they don't know any other alternative.
*laughs* Yeah, I have been neglecting the X side of the force, haven't I? Aside from Astonishing and Endsong, I haven't really been following all of the X titles these days. The mutants just haven't been producing as many fic bunnies as they used to...
