[Accidental Video/ Action] [03]

[Shortly after the Mirror's message, anyone in Joe West probably heard a loud, panicked cry. Everyone who's not can hear it over the mirrors instead.

The feed clicks on after being knocked over and Demyx is freaking out. From what can be seen here, he's pale and pacing furiously. He keeps twitching, swinging out at something that isn't there, and ( Read more... )

[Violet may not have known Demyx very well, but she knew that this panic wasn't consistent with the arrogant and confident attitude of the young man she had spoken to before.

And as a super, it was far past time she did some good for the school. Ignoring the growing anxiety within her own heart, she leaves the sanctity of her own room to go find him. It takes a while of listening through door after door, but she's pretty sure she's now found him.

Best to knock first.]

Hey, you okay in there?

G-go away! You're not real!

[Sorry, Vi. He thinks she's an illusion]

What are you talking about? Of course I'm real.

[And she's pretty sure she doesn't remember him being paranoid either.

Usually, she'd wait to be let in, but she has a feeling he won't be doing anything of the sort any time soon. Time to try the door handle and hope it's open...]

Go!

[There's scrambling as Demyx tries to keep what he thinks is an illusion out. Illusions always end up hurting him somehow, and dammit this one is not getting him!]

[She may be one floor above, but Esme definitely hears that.

She runs out of her room in search of the source of the outburst immediately - she did think to snatch her communicator off her desk, just in case she might need it. As she runs down the hallway, she glances at the feed, frowning as she tries to make out what is happening.

Oh, God be good.

Demyx.

She doesn't know where his room is, but she follows the sound of his panic, which leads her one floor down. She knocks at the door to be polite, but her voice is worried, and there's a firmness in her tone that lets him know she won't take no for an answer. Not now.]

Demyx? It's Esmeralda. Demyx, you need to open this door right now.

Please.

[She frowns at that. Her tone becomes softer, more reassuring.]

I am real.

[She tries the handle to see if it's locked (is it?). She leans against the door, testing it, assessing how hard it's going to be if she has to get in by any means necessary.

How can she prove to him that she isn't Mist? She honestly doesn't know enough about it to know how to disprove his fears, but there is no way she's leaving him like this.]

[The door's unlocked, but she might get blasted with water.]

There's too much Mist! You can't be!

[Feel that unearthly chill seeping from underneath your door, Demyx?

This is no figment of your imagination... and should you refuse to believe the reality of the situation, the Strangeling will most graciously help you to see the light.

And the dark.

An incoherent whisper travels through the door, soft but unmistakably piecing in harshness.

Care to let the Strangeling in?]

[Hell no. Demyx hears that whisper and promptly shuts up, scooting as far back from the door as possible.]

No no no no no no no.

[The handle shakes, rattling without any distinct rhythm.

The dark matter of the creature seems under the door as it turns the mechanism inside the handle, the portal creaking open slowly to reveal that black formless figure.

Silently, it glides closer to Demyx, extending a painfully cold tendril towards the musician.]

[Demyx shies way and tries to avoid the Thing. Normal people would cry for help, but seeing how he's convinced this is an illusion, he doesn't think that's gonna do hm any good.

So Demyx just keeps trying to avoid it and reaching for his sitar]
