[Oh look it's the crazy drama teacher again]

Joyeux Noël!

Did Père Noël visit everyone this year? Yes? No? Come, come, everyone here is much too serious. It's too grim, but hopefully the season of festivals will change that.

[He's wearing a new mask, but it's still a mask. He has not allowed anyone to see him without one since he got here, not ( Read more... )

What if we don't observe Christmas?

[One Some of the students happen to be Islamic, you know. Kind of rubbing your holidays in their faces, no?]

Christmas? Ah, that's what they say in English.

[He pauses his playing because HELLO PERSON WITH DARK SKIN]

If you don't observe, then go ahead and curl up in your room. In fact, curl up in your room for a few days. Noël celebrations tend to last a lot longer than merely the day, and you'll get quite sick of it.

That is, if you aren't already.

[dslkfjsd DARK SKINNED PERSON HE'S NOT THE ONLY ONE also wow you actually get away with not celebrating Christian holidays how the hell do you do that without being burned] If you do not mind, mademoiselle, might I ask where you are from? I have not met anyone of your complexion since I left Paris.

[Allah, he talks as much as Jafar. At least he seems pleasant though, unlike that slimy vizier.]

I rarely leave my room in the wintertime anyways; it is far too cold for my tastes. [And Hoover has excellent heating systems. Having a tiger in your bed also helps to keep warm.]

I am from Agrabah, in the Middle Kingdom. It's just about as far away from France as you can get; it is all desert along the bottom half of the continent, so it shouldn't be too much of a surprise that my complexion is darker than the Evengelinians or the Buena Vistians.

[You have no idea, Jasmine. At least he'll be charming while he's chattering on and on.]

Oui, it is quite cold, but that's what winter festivities are for! Warming up the masses and enjoying yourself even without the sun. [He's never experienced good heating systems. ;.;

Ah, of course. The Middle Kingdom. He's heard stories that gypsies are descended from Arabians who immigrated to Buena Vista, but he of all people knows how stories can change over the years.] Ah, no surprise at all in that case, mademoiselle. In Buena Vista, I believe it's safe to say that my people are the only ones of dark complexion. If what I heard is correct, colored skin is much more common in the Middle Kingdom. [He's guessing there's no gypsy genocide going on over there.]

[He pauses in the music, bowing from his sitting position.] Merci, monsieur! Always a pleasure. [And then he's playing again, but softly.] I do not believe I have met you before.

[Only because a certain mun forgot to sign him up for Clopin's classes earlier Sulkily:]

Stupid paperwork. You teach the music classes, right? I'm supposed to be in 'em, but someone screwed up so I'm just now signed up.

[Yay! New student to torture baffle corrupt teach!]

Ah, never trust paperwork. [...Especially if your literacy is shaky like Clopin's.] It'll be my pleasure to teach you all about my craft, monsieur! What is your name?

[Wow, that was impressive. Enough that it takes a few seconds before he remembers to speak.]

Um. I'm grateful that the Mist is taking a break, that everyone at home seems to be alright, and that the people I've met here have been pretty awesome.

[He pauses his playing, giving Andy a big gap-toothed grin. Oh, Andy. He knows how good he is at this.]

All excellent things to be grateful for, monsieur! Safety, family, friends! What else do you need?

[He tips his hat, winking.] Except perhaps some song and dance to spice things up, no?

Absolutely, absolutely, I'd be a sad performer if I didn't! What is a gypsy without music, hmmm? [He plays a quick ditty on the violin, made up on the spot but still sounding fantastic.]
