5th Problem Solved ☢ Donatello ☢ Action/Presents (backdated to Christmas)

Dec 27, 2011 19:22

[Guess who actually found time for presents? This guy!

He left his presents to his brothers in their rooms. For Leo, it's a series of smooth retractable poles and chains tipped with weights--both more specialized for ninjutsu training than anything he'd find in the gymnasium (and the latter are very useful as weapons and tools). For Mike, he'll ( Read more... )

[She was just about to head off to the kitchens to when she finds Don's note.

Oh boy.

For some reason, one that she can't quite place, her heart flutters, but only for a moment. As quickly as it happens, it stops. O-odd. It's... probably nothing, right? She shakes off the feeling and continues on her way, attributing the awkward thing as excitement or anxiety over celebrating Christmas without her family for the first time in her life. Yeah, that had to be it.

Give her a few hours, and she'll have made a few small batches of cookies; she wasn't exactly sure what kind of cookie Don liked... if he liked them in the first place. However, she figured it would be safe to go with a variety: classic sugar, chocolate chip, snickerdoodle, and shortbread. Once the dishes and ingredients have been cleaned up, and the cookies stacked and organized into a small festive tin, she grabs her handiwork and heads over to Don's room.

She'll just... take a moment to gather her wits before she gently knocks on the door.]

[And she can SEE. It's a Christmas miracle.

She shakes her head at the offering.] No thanks, they're all for you.

[That and Violet's not entirely comfortable eating at the moment. It seems a few butterflies have crept into her stomach.]

I... did do the recipes right, right? [PLEASE TELL HER THAT THE COOKIES DON'T TASTE LIKE SHE MIXED UP THE SALT AND SUGAR.]

[Oblivious turtle is oblivious to butterflies. He is happy with the cookies.]

Tastes like it! [Nom nom yaaaaaaaaay 8D ] Better than what I can do.

[Oh, good! Her baking is Don-approved!]

It's not exactly a hard recipe. I could show you some time.

Th-that is, if you wanted me to.

[It contains sugar. He is a teenager. Of course it's Don-approved.]

Actually, that sounds like fun. [He's not sure why he's enthusiastic about it. He wouldn't be if one of his brothers offered to show him or something.] I'd like that.

[...Duly noted. Add sugar to everything that Don will consume. Got it.]

R-really? [And her face lights up, pleasantly surprised he's interested right off the bat.] Well, I mean, if I can actually pry you away from your desk for a few hours, we could do it sometime this week maybe?

[Hey, it can work as a caffeine substitute.]

Yeah! That sounds fun! [...Wait, what? If he were to take time to think this through, he'd wonder at why he actually wants to do it. It's definitely not because he plans on baking anything. He just likes doing stuff with Violet.

But he doesn't take the time to think about it like that. It's as if his subconscious knows why, and is protecting him from the truth. There's no hope in that, Don.]

[As far as Violet's concerned, anything's better than coffee for Don.]

Alright. I'll make sure there's enough stuff in the kitchens to do it with, and maybe get a few new recipes from the library or something. We can experiment and stuff. [Because he likes experiments, right? You know, come to think of it, Violet's a lot more excited for this than she'd thought she'd be, too. What a small world.]

[C'mon, Vi, support the poor boy's addiction. ;.; ]

It all really boils down to chemistry, so it could be fun to figure out! It's just a matter of breaking it down and seeing how separate ingredients interact. [He's so nerdy that he thinks cookies are chemical equations. This is what you're not!crushing on, Vi.]

[Never except maybe in a moment of weakness, but THAT'S IT.]

You're probably the only person I know who could taking baking and turn it into science. [Cooking and higher education don't mix, silly turtle. As he'll no doubt find out. There's just a little more to cooking than precise measurements.]
