[The dark turtle stops as he hears the voice speak out unexpectedly in the open space, turning his head to look back as his shoulders tense briefly. Seeing no one standing behind him, he notices the light from his communicator and reaches with his tail to scoop it up. The video blurs out of focus, but he answers as he draws it around to where he might be able to view the screen while he tightens down the bolt. After all, the voice is vaguely familiar to him even if he can't immediately place it.]

It will give my brothers something else to beat on besides each other.

[Giving the screen a quick glance as he makes another twist with the tool in his hand, Dark Donatello stops in his work as he does a double take at the video.]

[With a rather startled sound, the purple clone actually flings the communicator away from himself as if the device was about to bite him, and although the video doesn't show it, the sound of the chains dropping and the tool clattering to the floor is loud enough.]

[Dark Donatello will not be by the room until after the light of the sun has begun to color the horizon, marking the end of the long night. At this point, he's exhausted enough that he is barely keeping his tail off the floor behind him as he ducks in through the doorway, trying to slip in quietly. Gingerly shutting the door behind himself with one hand, he moves over to his side of the room to sort through his notes and textbooks for what he will need to have with him for Monday classes that will begin soon enough.]

[While the clone has thus far avoided actually sleeping in the dorm room, the bed he has been using to stack books and notebooks on is beginning to taunt him.]

[Donatello's working at his desk, having maybe gotten two hours of sleep the entire night. He has coffee gripped in his hands, and he looks up at the clone, his forehead creased a little with worry.]

[He avoids asking outright how the clone is doing since it's normal for him to not come by the room often, but Donatello doesn't need to be a genius to see that the clone's drained.]

[Although the clone had intended to merely slink in, get his materials, and sneak away from the room, it had become apparent upon entering that the possibility had low odds. Even so, there's a faint flinch from the clone as he hears Donatello speak to him. Without turning to look back at his original, he continues sorting through the notes as he tries to go through his mental checklist.]
