Australia is cooking!

It has been about a week so far; if not longer, where it has been hot enough to kill a person.

Temperatures have climbed above 45deg celsius during the day. At night there has been little relief below 30 degrees. Making it very concerning as we now have broken the hottest day on record in many areas. With the record high temperatures being broken ( Read more... )

The Robin's are STILL here in Florida. Which is very strange. They came in late November or early December and haven't left. This strikes me as odd as they typically come early November for a couple weeks and reappear in February for a couple weeks.

I wish I could recognize or formulate a pattern.

Nature runs on a fine-tuned pattern of events. Birds and other wildlife are very sensitive to temperature and also the number of hours of daylight.

Because the global climate is changing rapidly, our wildlife on a global scale is struggling to keep up to the rate of change. Things that should take hundreds or even thousands of years to change, are being forced upon by the changes caused in the past 100 years by us humans.

I hope your birds can find their way. As with many other species around the globe, the race is on to keep up with these rapid changes.

I was thinking that and wondered if central Florida was warmer than usual. It's just weird their still here.

4.7 mag earthquake off the coast of Virginia today, too. Looks like they're strengthening as you suggested.

Are you recording or creating a system to see any patterns develop?

At present ecologist and biologist around the world are working on such projects.

It will be some time before the data will even be free to see.

Most science papers are still waiting to be published. But it is starting to become common knowledge.
