Sherlock S2E3

Broke my Sherlock boycott for 'The Reichenbach Fall'. I will never, ever, watch the first episode and probably not the second either, but it turns out there's only so long I can stay away from anything with 'Reichenbach' in the title. I am that simple a slave to the angst.

It is hard to stay away from the angst and I ended up watching all three because, well, thesis and the compulsion to procrastinate is overwhelming in all instances. Needless to say there was a great deal of fist waving and subjecting random strangers to long rants here and there (Wrong sort of angst.) regarding oh women and whatnot, but I think this series takes me that way. Some parts are beautiful and just right ... others? Not so much. Tres frustrant ( ... )

I was wondering if you had given this episode a try ^_^. I'm really glad you enjoyed at least some of it! Regarding the theories about Sherlock's survival, I'm sure Molly, as well as Mycroft, are deeply involved in Sherlock's plans.

Or, more seriously, at least the episode wasn't making with daft defensive "THEY ARE NOT GAY SHUT UP" posturing and as a result had me slightly more convinced these people gave a fuck about each other.

THIS. I may strongly dislike some parts of this episode but at least the writer spared us that.
If you ever consider watching 'The Hounds of Baskerville', I hope you'll enjoy it as well. Personally, I had lost all hope after the first episode but, despite one or two things, THoB proved to be a nice surprise. I'm tempted to say it's obvious the episodes are written by three very different people.
On another note, I hope RL isn't too hard on you.

So with you on the anti-gay posturing (which marred 'hound' for me). And on MF - rivetting performance. He is very, very good at those quiet still moments. BC's Sherlock is a less interesting character. Being a quirky genius is one thing but it's broad brushstrokes. MF's performance is so subtle and so beautifully judged.

Oh God, that last episode upset me deeply - Martin Freeman was just heartbreaking. I'm telling myself that, for all the flaws in this Sherlock's character, surely he's not so needlessly cruel as to go three years without giving J some small sign that he doesn't need to give up just yet.

Incredibly, staggeringly good performance from MF.

(Mrs H dusting their flat made me facepalm, but I very much like the fact that Molly is in on Sherlock's secret!)

I have to say that I was JUST on wordstrings page--hoping to lure her back into the fandom, cause were "waiting". LOL. Other than that? I must be the only one here that thoroughly enjoyed season 2? ASIB was awesome (IMO) hounds slightly less (but only slightly) because it dragged in certain spots and then the RF...moriartys performance was sublime ((but IM glad hes dead)) MF was just beautiful and I too was glad there was no "gay denial BUT just to add my 2cents---those never really annoy me. If anything I find them amusing although not for the reason everyone would think. Coming from the SPN fandom--the more you deny the gay, the more your highlighting the slash, I think its presented in a silly tongue in cheek way. I dont feel theres any disrespect esp since MG is tre gay and one of the writers...his mycroft is also brilliant. I love watching all his subtle facial mannerisms. I left BC for last, but i LOVE his mad hatter sherlock. I can SEE wordstrings sherlock in BC its so ridiculous how much I can see him in her stories...I just ( ... )
