Important Shit
A few things. First, the schedule has been sucking, and I'm sorry. I'm aware of this. I was tempted to just drag out the old vectors and slap a strip together that way, just to give y'all something to look at, but no. I'm not going to do that. I'm going to do the last strips right.
Yeah, I did say "the last strips." Once I wrap up this storyline, the strip will, for all pratical purposes, end. I may come back and do a few tying-up-loose-ends specials at some point in the future, but once this arc wraps up, w00t is done.
There are a lot of reasons. First and foremost, because it stopped being fun. I'm sorry, that's sad and it sucks, but it's the truth. I don't enjoy it anymore. I don't look forward to drawing w00t like I used to. I thought switching to a more challenging style might snap me out of the funk I've been in with it, but it didn't. And it shows. As I've said before, I'd rather do no strip than a half-ass strip. So... I will do no strip.
Second, there are other projects I want to do. There's "Becky's Doll," which I really would like to finish and actually put in dead-tree format. There's also another one I'm dying to knock out... hey, Silent Hill fen? How does a Silent Hill comic with a well-written script, a canon-logical plot, and decent art sound? How about one created by someone who's actually PLAYED THE GAMES? It's in the works. I'm writing the script and tinkering with art now, and having reread the first two books of Dying Inside recently, I think it's safe to say my book will pwn IDW's crap. There are a handful of test renders on my DevArt site, if you're interested in a sneaky peeky. Yeah, I'm using heavily post-processed Poser renders for the art, but by God it works. It looks great and I'm really excited and rarin' to go on it.
I'll leave the site up until it dies in August or whenever it expires, and then there'll still be the Keenspace mirror, and I'll throw up a warning when w00t-comic.net is about to croak. If there's enough demand for it, I may zip up the entire archive into a .cbz and make it available via BitTorrent or something.
Also, I'm taking down the CafePress store at the end of next month. If there's something you want, get it now.
Finally, those of you who've sent me dough via PayPal are getting it back, because PayPal is being fucking stupid. See, here's the deal. PayPal requires a bank account to confirm before it will even let you accept a payment. Fine. I have a bank account. But for some reason, PayPal does not like it, will not confirm it, and will not let me use it to gain Verified status, which I need to be able to accept payments. They claim it is because my bank does not accept ACH transfers, which is complete and total and utter BULLSHIT because right there on my bank's website are INSTRUCTIONS FOR SETTING UP ACH TRANSFERS FROM PAYPAL OR ANOTHER BANK ACCOUNT! StormPay seems to be able to dump money into that same account just fine, what the fuck is PayPal's problem!?
But wait--it gets better!
PayPal's "fix--" as suggested by no fewer than four "customer service" reps there--is for me to go get a new account with another bank.

Fuck PayPal. I'll keep it for buying shit off eBay, and that's IT.
Which is, uh, kind of a moot point considering I've also taken the donation button off the site, because there's no reason to beg for dough when I'm not doing anything.
