I'm getting all confused now on what I did when, but I see I have left out the rest of the Midtown tour. After we left the most awesome Tudor City enclave with its fanciful towers and private parks, we strolled down 41st Street eastwards, when we began seeing interesting little brass plaques set into the sidewalk. They are called "The Library Walk ( Read more... )

The library is incredible isn't it? They're planning a renovation (Norman Foster as architect) and the plans have generated quite a bit of controversy as you can imagine. Revised plans are supposed to be released early next year.

Haha, you caught a stretch limo in front of the Algonquin. The half price ticket booth is right there by the bleachers, so yeah, a lot of the people there are waiting for the tickets to go on sale. The rest are probably tourists resting their feet :D

I need to get a subscription to the NYTimes or the New Yorker magazine or something, so I can read up on all these things. Any recommendations?

No shows this trip, alas. Maybe next time I'll be in those stands, hoping to score something good.

Time square, was so surprised the first time I visited it. As on TV it always looks so full, we went later at night and their was actually a wonderful walking.

I did feel all boxed in when we walked down the blocks of Wallstreet, too many big buildings.

Thanks again. Memories, Memories. (Oh I did go up the empire state building once don't like heights, but was dared by my kids.

We didn't get down to the Financial District but I can imagine the boxed in feeling there, with so many skyscrapers just looming overhead.

You might want to peek through your fingers then, when I post the photos from Top of the Rock.

It was a completely fabulous trip and I can't wait to return to New York.

Isn't it funny how so often if you live in a tourist destination you don't bother to go "see the sights"? Maybe because they are available all the time and you keep thinking "I'll do that next week" or something like that?

I hope you get the chance to remedy that oversight, once you feel better.
