I like to imagine the red towers that we can see out of Waverly's window are the Tudor City Towers, I think back in the 60's you would have had a clear view of them from the general area of the UNCLE office. A friend of mine used to live there, I think it's all co-op now (it was built as rentals). It really is it's own little world, but New York has all sorts of odd pockets like that.
I hope you don't mind my rambling either; I love New York's oddities.

I was thinking about the view from Waverly's windows, too, and really hoped to walk up a bit further to take a guess at the angle. Seeing the Tudor City towers is an excellent idea and it makes me happy. (I had thoughts that perhaps the guys might live there, too.) It seemed so removed from the rest of Midtown, but is very handy.

I have a story where, in my head, they do live there :D I don't mention it by name, but it's the geography I'm thinking of as Illya walks home.
