please think again when you say Sachin's 100s were in the losing cause and that he is not a team player. I think the real issue is that of all these 100s, how many have come in a real crunch match? Like the 2003 World Cup Final, or the series saving match a couple of days ago, or against SL or Bangladesh in the 2007 World Cup.
Surely the greatest players live to perform on the biggest stage. Look at Zidane, look at Tiger Woods, look at Johnny Wilkinson. Tendulkar is no doubt a great player, but one world cup victory would have propelled him to immortality; the likes of which no sportsman would have ever seen anywhere.
This is just for the sake of argument. I'm not a Tendulkar fan.
True! The only occassion, I can remember Tendulkar performing on a crunch situation is in Sharjah against Australia.... If he shown even 50% of the effort that went in Sharjah, similarly in World cup. India could have reached the target... Thats the difference between great and greatest as you say...
