I wouldn't take this as an insult to you. I would take it as an indication that they have no confidence in themselves or the value of the product you're supposed to be promoting for them. THEY are the dingbats for shrinking back rather than jumping at the chance to get some good press. Or, at a minimum, they weren't clear with you on their expectations for a timeline.

I wish that were true. The deal is, IT went off and built a version of our site designed specifically for the iPhone. Unfortunately, they didn't have buy in or support from anyone else in the company for this, AND they're running late on completing several other projects for the company that are more pressing ( ... )

That's extremely frustrating.

I know you do an incredible job, and get results. You deserve to be working in a place where that's highly valued, and expected. And I have faith you'll find that place.
