Aloha, Muthafuckas!

Jun 02, 2007 15:25

Finally had a chance to log on and post a quick update from Honolulu--things are great! Other than a minor sunburn the first day, plus a subsequent cold that I haven't quite been able to shake, the trip's been fabulous. I hiked to the top of Diamond Head, checked out the North Shore, visited Pearl Harbor, and snorkeled in Hananama Bay. Also, ( Read more... )

aloha, work, snakes on a muthafuckin' plane, boob tube, men suck, it's all about me

Glad you're having a good time. Have sex with a stocky island boy for me.

I would, but I'm trying to be good because of that boy in St. Louis.

Goodness all around!

While you're in Maui, a visit to the Maui Ocean Center is worth 2-3 hours of your time if you're into pretty, exotic fishies.

Not sure how much time you'll be back in Honolulu after Maui, but if you're staying in Waikiki, you may want to have a drink at Angles (2256 Kuhio). It's a quaint place that has been a mainstay of their community for years, with a nice balcony view overlooking a busy section of Kuhio. There's a gay tapas restaurant right behind it that looked good (but expensive), and a gay dance bar called Fusion next door. The restaurant on the first floor under Angles is a delightful place to have breakfast, and it won't cost you an arm and a leg. There's also a smorgasbord place called Perry's a few blocks east at 2380 Kuhio that was good. (http://www.perryssmorgy.com)

Enjoy!

Thanks for the tips! We're flying to Maui in about ten minutes, but we already hit that breakfast place this morning, and it was terrific. Perry's was closed last night when we went over, so maybe we'll try it when we get back from Maui. We're actually staying two blocks from Angles, so that'll be on the list for me when we return, too. I might need a drink to calm my nerves the night before my interview!

Thanks again!

By any chance, are you staying at the Aqua Island Colony Hotel at 445 S Seaside Avenue? (This is the street Angles as at the corner of) That's where we stayed. That would be quite a coincidence!

Nope--the Ohana Waikiki Malia, one block over. Pretty nice hotel, though now I'm in Maui.
