Seven random things

Comment to this post, and I will list seven things I want you to talk about. They might make sense or they might be totally random. Then post that list, with your commentary, to your journal. Other people can get lists from you, and the meme merrily perpetuates itself.

wshaffer gave me these:

yay, an entry from v.

where does your dad live?

i want to hear you singing.

i so don't enjoy mark rothko's work either, and to the point that it irritates me when people really do. then again, i'm sure there's art i like that other people react that way to. whatever, it's all in the eye of the beholder.

ginger is very good for numerous things, it's a wonder root.

skipping waistcoats and batman brings us to pie. mmm...pieee...

i'll try doing this, if you want to give me seven random subjects. i might be too sleepy right now, but i'll do it soon.

Dad lives in Sweden but still has a house in SoCal where I grew up, and he's there now for a brief holiday.

Remind me and I'll sing something when we get around to doing our photography thing.

As for seven subjects: blue, pretzels, verbs, shoes, bicycles, spiders, geraniums.

Pollack's paintings are significantly more accessible and entrancing in person, where you can experience both the massive scale and the texture details. It turns out that most modern art is like this: reproductions are rarely an adequate experience. For anyone that doesn't "get modern art," a couple hours in MoMA can really help.

I'd love some prime topics.

Prime topics? Okay:

prime rib, prime numbers, primary colors, primal scream therapy, lexical priming, the genus Primula, and Optimus Prime.

I took a 2-D design class, and our teach was an Abstract impressionist, so we learned a lot about that style, while we went over other subjects, such as color, etc.

Mostly what I got out of it is that it's harder than it looks.

Anyway - I'll take 7 topics.
