Short form is that there are many ways i could be a better person and a better friend, some of which I dwell on perhaps too much. at this time of year it is traditional to heal relationships and do what one can to apologize, make amends, change if need be. Tomorrow is Kol Nidre, so I'm behind again - I may well not know

The only problem is not seeing you enough.

As for the layoff, the worst thing that will happen is you will find a better paying job.
