So at some point yesterday while I was at work, the little fan doohicky on my video card decided that it would rather be on the bottom of my case than in my video card cooling it. Consequently, it is now a charred hunk of junk. As a further consequence, the overheating of that component pushed my ever-twitchy athlon64 over the heat edge as well, ( Read more... )

Only the videos portion. it's the minority. Most of it's pics for my jewelry and music. :P

We do this service all the time. We hook the hard drive up to our hard drive via special cables and a special program and pull all the data off and burn it to DVD. Your problem is that all new computers use SATA and your old HDD was of the PATA or IDE format. You *can* go to a place like Best Buy or Circuit City (and pay $99 with us or about $200 at BB) to get up to 10 gigs of your data. But if you are patient, I will find out the name of the program that we use and tell you how to do it. I just forget the name of it off the top of my head.

Buy a Mac and they'll do it for you at the Apple Store for free.
