Aaaaand as for the argument...I love the 2nd gen. .-. 3rd + 4th gen have my two favorite Pokemon--Blaziken, Infernape and Metagross--but I really, really enjoyed Johto. I liked all the new things they added...and, well, going from Johto to Kanto rocked.

Buuuut yeah, older Pokemon automatically beating out newer Pokemon does not compute. Infernape can just as easily take out Charizard as Meganium can kill Sceptile (and etc).

Well, everyone used to wear some sort of gloves or wristwear. Like Jhoto has shorts. Hoenn had full gloves Kantoremake had wristbands. Sinnoh had scarves. But yeah, I thought it was tradition to have hats or some sort of headwear. Even oldschool!Red had a hat. Gold had a backwards cap and Kris had some sort of cap thing. I really liked Pearl's beanie thing though. I thought Lucas's berette was a little off the top though.

My friend usually chooses the girl because it's more canon with the story, or something weird like that. I like choosing the girl because there wasn't that option before and I should take advantage of the option. ...Not that it's going away anytime soon, but you know. ._.

I never actually played RBGY, seriously anyway. I do like the Kanto Pokemon but I think it's boring with just them. ^^; Johto Pokemon are ick, but the games are good. I guess I'm just a Hoenn junky. ^^;
