When we first started, I sent her pictures of common houses of the region: sad little trailers, neat little brick cottages with flower gardens, and run-down old farmhouses that scare children and attract the crew of Hoarders. There was never any question whose housing was whose.

Second - It makes perfect sense to me that Sherlock has a moonshine still and could care less that it's out in the open.
Third - I know that we've only been given a few teasers, but I really like how in-character everything feels to me.

I'll stop gushing now :)

I'm so, so glad you see it as IC so far: the goal is really to keep them pretty much exactly themselves...except in a totally different setting, which would change them in subtle ways.
I hear Sherlock as speaking in that sort of brisk, educated way that makes people not trust him, and John's speech changes a lot depending on who he's talking to, which he does mostly unconsciously.
You can gush if you want to. It's very motivating. :D

And oh dear, by brain: I read 'horse named Arthur' - It says 'Wellington' - and so now in my head Sherlock's horse looks and behaves like Wellington's Copenhagen.

Arthur is named after Sherlock's creator, who also tried to kill him with a deadly fall--and failed.

That is no excuse, brain!
And that's how I manage never to get the obvious ...
