I can't WAIT to call the cops tonight. This is our third July here, and the people next door always let their kids handle the fireworks, which is not only illegal and dangerous but they shoot them onto our balcony.
P.S. I am wracking my half-dead brains about what to do for your b'day. :( Nothing wants to gel. Is there something specific you'd like?
Maybe the worst of the battle zone here was last night. I was out at a party (where things were fairly crazy but not scarily so). Guess we'll see.
Aw, you don't have to give me anything. If something does happen to gel, you know a scene from one of the older stories or a funny drabble or cartoon or something is always nice. But if it doesn't work out, DO NOT feel bad about it. That's an order! :D
I was complaining because it felt sinister. I know my neighborhood better than that. I wanted to check to see if the zombie apocalypse had happened or something. (Not the Rapture. None of my neighbors would be taken.)
It's actually quite nice on the actual day. My whole apartment building has a BBQ and the school a few blocks away hosts a small but professional-quality fireworks display. The two weeks before and the two weeks after, though...not so nice.
Wish I could have said that about my neighborhood! (Although to be fair, some of my neighbors' illegal fireworks displays were a fine sight - every bit the equal of the professional displays, and my back deck afforded a great view.)

Though given that I stayed up until midnight playing the last hours of the Midsummer Fire Festival in WoW, I wasn't inconvenience very much. ;)
