Oh, lord yes. I'm just glad I got a chance to see him live several times over the years. (The first time, I was 13!)

I love that fic. It still cracks me up. I just still don't know what the resolution is!

Yeah, he passed away this morning. 67 years old, stomach cancer. I grew up with him too. :(

I let one of my friends know and I guess Dio stopped one of her friends being raped by a roadie. Smooth sailing sir!

I never met him myself, but from all accounts he was a truly good man, as well as being so talented. He and his manager/wife Wendy put a LOT of their money and organization skills towards Children of the Night, an organization meant to help homeless teens get safe living spaces to build job skills other than prostitution.

Husband and I have been imagining our friend A greeting Dio upon arrival. It's an image that lifts our spirits, anyway...

I remember your post about A. That was extremely moving. You don't need to downplay the meaning of that to me - I do believe in life after death, and meetings of sympatico spirits. The idea of that always lifts my spirits, whether I knew the people involved or not.
