I was sort of ambivalent about such an odd pairing, but you did a really great job with it! I can very much hear their voices in this, and the situation makes perfect sense.

When Saul drank, Laura contemplated the mess the New Capricans were heading towards. When Laura drank, Saul shuffled his deck of cards idly. It beat thinking.

I really like that. It says so much without really saying much of anything, and it's just pitch-perfect.

Oh, thank you so much! I am not-so-secretly in love with their interactions too, and I think you did an excellent job with them in this.

I think he would always and forever be bitter about that slap, and I like the image of the two of them drinking together. This was just really wonderful, thank you again!
