Love your rec lists and it's nice to see some activity in this fandom again, but I'm a little confused by the presence of bookverse Caledonia stories like Isis's and Reil's here--in the book, Marcus frees Esca before they even go north...they don't quite seem to fit your theme of pre-manumission storres. Or are these two themes in one rec list?

Yes, it's actually two themes. I was not clear enough about that. I first wanted to make a list solely for pre-manumissium stories, but then I also attached stories focused on the journey - which means that some stories here are actually post-manumission for both the book 'verse and the movie 'verse. *scratches head* Labeling, it's not my biggest forte...
