Haha, I used to have a trainer who would blindfold us and make us take apart a bridle and put it back together. :P

What are your bit concerns? I personally like the Dr. Bristol D ring snaffle. Very gentle. I hope to switch my horses to one since they're both wearing Wonder Bits now which seem a bit strong.

I am not sure what you mean by that. I have a D ring snaffle right now...but it might be too harsh which is why I was going to go with eggbutt. I'll probably just go to the tack shop and have them get me something...who knows :\

As far as a D ring versus Eggbutt there really isn't much of a difference unless your D ring is pinching on the edges, some of them aren't hinged the same way. But if I'm not mistaken the snaffle will be the same harshness (or lack there of) on both the D ring and the Eggbutt. You could go for a double joined snaffle like the Dr Bristol for a more gentle bit than a single jointed snaffle, the double jointed snaffle contours to the mouth better and doesn't have the snake "nutcraker" action that the single joint does. Curved mouth peices are another thing that would make a bit more gentle just because it'll fit better.

Heh ok there's my lecture. :>

Thank you. I really appreciate this help. I think now I have that "nutcracker" action cause it's a single joint, so I will keep the double jointed in mind. I really need to study up on all this and now I really am going to have a lot of free time so I am going to be making the most of it! :)
