New phone, same number

Well I broke down and purchased a new phone today. My Treo was having serious difficulties - the speaker was not re-engaging when the headset was removed - and the headset was sometimes flakey. So I made the jump to a T-Mobile G1 Google phone. It is very cool (though not quite as cool as an iPhone) but Im' not sure about it's desire to link itself ( Read more... )

There is a new free app that I heard about. Basically you turn the app on and click a button and it listens for popular music in the room you are located in. Then it shows you a list of possible matches. My friend Simon said it has named the song 99% of the time. The only time it failed was a live recording of a famous song. So the song was different enough for the app not to recognize it. I am not sure if this app is for the google phone or the I-Phone or both.

I heard something about that on NPR, but I think it was for the iPhone. It was interesting in that only studio recorded / album versions of songs would work because it makes a mathematical representation of the music somehow. Thanks though!
